Terminal Scanning at O'Hare International Airport

Environmental Design International inc. (EDI), as a subconsultant to Landrum & Brown, provided professional land surveying services as a part of the O’Hare Lease Space Reconciliation project. This project supported the design and development of a multi-billion-dollar capital investment program at O’Hare that will expand Terminal 5, redevelop Terminal 2, create space for new gates, and support tens of thousands of jobs and economic opportunities in Chicago.
EDI completed laser scanning of Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. This involved coordination with the Chicago Department of Aviation, the tenant airlines and TSA to coordinate activities on both the public (unsecured) and secure sides of the terminals. Once the scanning was completed, each terminal’s scan data was registered, georeferenced, and exported into CADD for data extraction.
