New Service Offering: ADA Accessibility Services

EDI now provides Accessibility Consulting Services based on applicable local, state, federal and national accessibility codes. EDI also offers Universal Design Consulting Services to clients who want to go above and beyond in Accessibility.

EDI's Accessibility Division is led by Jeoi Lee, PhD, KIRA, who has 30 years of broad and in‐depth experience in accessibility, architecture and construction. Lee holds a PhD in Handicap Accessibility and Universal Design in architecture and is a registered architect in Korea (KIRA). He had worked for the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) as an Accessibility Examiner.

Lee's personal and professional disability experience provides unique insight into the requirements and interpretation of accessibility regulations. Lee states that his mission is a simple one: "To make built-environments accessible and user-friendly equally to all, with safety and dignity. I will only be successful when built-environments are accessible to all users."

Our Accessibility Consulting Services consist of the following phases: Preliminary Plan and Code Review; Design and Permit Review; Assessments and Surveys; Training and Seminars; and Expert Witness services. EDI works closely with clients to create accessibility compliance solutions with budgetary, design and functional considerations. This new discipline will complement our service offerings to architects, interior designers, construction managers, real estate developers, general contractors, government agencies, attorneys, hotels and retailers.
