Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

EDI provided IAQ assessments services over a two-year period at three MWRDGC monitoring and research laboratory facilities.The work included air monitoring assessments and mechanical system evaluations at each of three facilities in 2009 and 2010. The assessments included personal air sampling for specific chemicals handled in each laboratory, as well as sampling in specific laboratory areas for volatile organic compounds, general air quality parameters, and bioaerosols.

In addition to the IAQ assessments, evaluations of the mechanical systems in each facility were performed to establish compliance with relevant codes, publications, or professional practices and highlight areas of non-compliance and recommendation for any improvement. The evaluations included ventilation, filtration, room pressure, and rate of air combustion requirements. The evaluations identified any systems that do not meet codes or professional practices.

Each year's final report included a discussion of sampling results/mechanical system evaluations and comparison of results/evaluations to applicable standards and guidelines.
