Jonquil Park

Situated in the heart of Lincoln Park, the Jonquil Park playlot was renovated and expanded by the Chicago Park District in 2008. EDI provided detailed survey and civil site design for this compact park design, working closely with the landscape architect. Packed with detailed features such as a water spray pond, drinking fountains, decorative pavements and walls, and multiple grades of rubberized play surface, all posed challenges in addition to the rigorous City of Chicago stormwater management requirements. EDI civil design features included water line taps, meters and backflow preventers designed in consultation with Chicago Park District engineering and maintenance staff, an underground stormwater detention vault and storm sewer, and miscellaneous pavements.
