Illinois Tollway I-94/I-294 Rebuild & Widen

In Fall 2006, the Illinois Tollway began the $1.34 billion rebuild and widening of the Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294). Named the #1 Road Project in North America for 2009 by Roads & Bridges magazine, the project added a fourth lane in both directions. EDI served as the Construction Manager for the project extending from Dempster Street to Willow Road. In this role, EDI managed roadway inspectors, structural specialists, material testers, surveyors, and design engineers. EDI also played a crucial community relations role during all phases of this project.

EDI received an ACEC-Illinois Engineering Excellence Merit Award for this work in 2011.
