EDI's Claire Williams Participates in Mentoring Panel

On Thursday, November 30th, the University of Illinois at Chicago chapter of Society of Women in Engineering (GradSWE-UIC) held a "Leader and Mentors from the Industry" panel discussion. EDI's President, Claire Williams, was invited to speak on the panel and to help initiate the "Mentors from the Industry" program as a new section to GradSWC-UIC's current mentorship program (WEMENTOR).

In addition to Claire, three other women were on the panel: Manju Prakash Sharma, PE, DEE, DWRE, Senior Vice President of SPAAN Tech, Inc.; P. Kay Whitlock, PE, D.WRE, F.ASCE, Vice President of Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd.; and Patricia Walsh, PE, PSP, Vice President of Chicago Infrastructure Leader, Parsons.

Each woman on the panel discussed effective strategies to be a successful female leader in industry and the importance of having mentors to motivate and encourage female students in engineering majors.
