Chicago Housing Authority

EDI has provided professional environmental engineering services to the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) since 1996. Like the CHA, EDI is committed to the transformation of underserved Chicago neighborhoods, and has spent more than two decades working on projects in every corner of the city.

CHA relies on EDI to provide sound, detailed specifications for the abatement of environmental hazards. For more than two decades, EDI’s project scopes have included asbestos and lead-based paint inspections and abatement oversight, perimeter air sampling during demolition, underground storage tank (UST) removal, remediation planning, and project oversight. Projects have also included indoor air quality and mold investigations, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) testing. EDI also completes projects involving Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Illinois Site Remediation Program (SRP) enrollment, and community relations.
