Chicago Department of Transportation WPA Streets Program

As a subconsultant to ESI Consultants, LTD., EDI is performing Construction Inspection services for projects involving the reconstruction of Chicago streets built as part of the Depression Era Works Progress Administration (WPA) public works program in the 1930s and '40s. The streets were originally built without curbs and gutters, and with minimal drainage facilities. Reconstructed streets feature curbs and gutters, a closed drainage system, street lighting, and ADA compliant sidewalks.
